Wildlife Action Group

Supported by the Abraham Foundation since 2013

MISSION & FOCUS

Wildlife Action Group protects one of Malawi’s most threatened wildlife corridors. From ranger patrols to community education and water access, their work integrates conservation and human well-being.

IMPACT

0 elephants poached in 8 years.

Clean water and irrigation projects reached thousands.

124 staff employed locally.

1,500+ families supported through income-generating initiatives.

WAG has expanded protective fencing to 135 kilometers, nearly eliminating human-elephant conflict in their area and their ranger force has grown from 12 to 50. These efforts have contributed to a fivefold increase in the local elephant population—now over 300 strong. At the same time, deforestation has slowed significantly, allowing 70,000 hectares of native forest to regenerate naturally. More than 16,000 children have also participated in WAG’s environmental education programs.
